Other Heat Pump Options

At Quest Geothermal we are proud to be an industry leading installer of Geothermal Heat Pumps.

We do recognize that Geothermal may not be an option for everyone. The cost and logistics of drilling on small urban lots can make a Geothermal Installation prohibitive or even impossible.

With the introduction of Cold Climate Heat Pumps we now have a viable option for customers that are looking for a cost effective option for a whole house heating solution. These systems produce unsurpassed comfort while reducing your carbon foot print.

Cold Climate Heat Pumps differ from more traditional High Efficiency heat pumps in that they are the primary source of heat and can heat (and cool) your house all year round.

Cold Climate Heat Pumps

  • Has highest efficiency (besides Geo) Approx. 350% at 8C and 200% at -8C
  • Reduces your carbon footprint.
  • Eliminates the Cost and Mess of installing a Geothermal Heat Pump.
  • Can be installed on homes with a very small property.
Still provides heat to -30C and beyond.
  • Provides season long comfort as the primary heating source for your home.
  • Whisper Quiet (46db).

Cold Climate Heat Pumps come in two different types.

Air-to-Air

This type is the more common and it extracts the heat from the air and distributes the heat in the house through either a central duct system or a ductless system.

Air-to-Water

This type of Heat Pump extracts the heat from the air and distributes the heat via warm water to either in-floor or a centrally ducted system (maybe both). Also provides heat for domestic hot water.
